"We have good players, that was also clear to see against Nicosia. When these players get their self-confidence back, then we will be back on the right track", said Peter Bosz shortly after the match against Apoel Nicosia to sky. Ömer Toprak's sights were already trained on the future: "It will be a different game on Saturday, a special game. I hope that will help us draw upon untapped energy reserves, and that we will get the three points."

Peter Bosz: "I understand the disappointment, because we had to win this match. We are missing a bit of self-confidence at the moment. After going 1-0 up, we needed to score a second, since that would have made it easier for us. It is of course aggravating that Nicosia's first shot on goal finds the back of the net. Things are just not going our way right now. We need a win soon, then our self-confidence will come flooding back. We have to get through this together. We are all in it together, but we will also emerge from it together. You saw at the beginning of the season what we are capable of. We have good players, that was also clear to see against Nicosia. When these players get their self-confidence back, then we will be back on the right track."

Marcel Schmelzer: "We are stuck in a bit of a trough right now, you saw that again. We created lots of chances for ourselves, but we passed up the opportunity to get the second goal. Then we concede a goal with their first shot on target, which is really annoying. We have got to get through this together, the entire team and the entire training staff. We must continue to work hard on ourselves, train hard, then our luck will return and we will get out of this bad phase we're going through."

"We're missing that bit of luck right now"

Ömer Toprak: "The disappointment is of course tangible in the dressing room right now, as we were determined to win. We did not manage to do that though, we did not take advantage of our chances. Analysing the game immediately after is difficult. It is obvious that we needed to defend better when we conceded, but it was the first and basically the only shot on goal from Nicosia. We are just missing that bit of luck right now, just that modicum of luck. It is a difficult situation, but we will come through it together. It will be a different game on Saturday, a special game. I hope that will help us draw upon untapped energy reserves, and that we will get the three points."(djg)
