How Things Stand: Second against first. A win would see the Black and Yellows overtake the championship record holders and go into the international break as league leaders. The two best offensive teams in the division in the form of Borussia Dortmund (27 goals) and Bayern Munich (24 goals) will go toe to toe. The two teams have created the greatest number of clear-cut chances (26 apiece) and have fired off the greatest number of shots on goal (FCB: 194, BVB: 171).

Home and Away: The 2-3 loss to Leipzig in Dortmund's last home match brought the 41 game undefeated streak in the league on Strobelallee to an end. BVB have only failed to score in one of their last 16 home matches, and scored at least twice in their last six fixtures. The Munich men have only lost one of their last eight away matches (on 9 September away at Hoffenheim).

Personnel: Zagdadou (suspended), Reus, Rode and Durm (injured) are missing for Dortmund, while Neuer, Müller, Ribery, and Bernat (all injured) will not be present for the guests from Munich.

Head-to-head: The two teams go up against each other for the 25th time in a competitive fixture since November 2011 (League, Cup, Supercup, Champions League). Their head-to-head record in this time period is almost completely even: there have been ten victories for Bayern, six draws, and eight BVB successes.

The Stats: Borussia Dortmund have not won in three games, while Bayern have won their last three league fixtures without conceding a goal.

Referee: Tobias Stieler (36) from Hamburg will officiate the blockbuster match for the third time in succession in Dortmund. He will be ably assisted by linesmen Dr. Markus Jöllenbeck and Christian Gittelmann. Bibiana Steinhaus will serve as fourth official.

Attendance: The SIGNAL IDUNA PARK has sold out all 81,360 places.

Greatest Home Win: The greatest home win dates back to 3 June 1967. The Borussia men won 4-0 in the Rote Erde stadium with both Lothar Emmerich and Reinhold Wosab scoring a brace.
