It is exactly three months to the day since Peter Bosz announced that he was looking forward to his first rendezvous with the Yellow Wall. That was prior to the Supercup against Bayern Munich. The manager is now aware that the South Stand can influence how matches play out, as well as win them. Hopefully it will spur the team on to victory tomorrow, and with that, propel them back to the top of the table.

"Two top teams, the first placed team against the second placed team. All the ingredients are there for a top clash", opined Bosz before the duel against FC Bayern that will kick off on Saturday at 18:30 in the completely sold-out Signal Iduna Park. And BVB wish to take full advantage of the fact it is a home game. "You can't put it into words. You need to have experienced it for yourself", said the Dutchman of the Yellow Wall. "The fans can really help the team if things should get tricky."

"If you don't play bravely against Bayern, you stand no chance"

After bagging just one point from the last three games, it could be that the new table leaders are coming "at just the right moment" to Dortmund, according to Bosz. "If we win, we ascend once more to the top of the table, and will have rid ourselves of that feeling. We will give our all to win this match." Circumspect or courageous: what will their approach to the encounter be? "There can be no doubt. If you don't play bravely against Bayern, you stand no chance."

Peter Bosz has worked through the last few weeks in discussion with the team, a period during which, starting with the match against Leipzig, things have not gone as they had beforehand: "Our opponents know how we play. Now it is up to us to vary our style."

"The best medicine for him is to score that first goal"

The need to bring stability once more to the defence as well as to capitalise on a still healthy number of chances on goal are both of special import. In September, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had occasionally been able to score a goal with only half a chance, but now he is missing that bit of luck. "The best medicine for him is to score that first goal", suggested Bosz: "He has our confidence." On Saturday he is in direct competition with Robert Lewandowski. They both have ten goals to their name.

Whoever leaves the field of play as top-scorer will presumably have left the pitch along with his teammates as a winner.
