The UEFA Youth League campaign is over for Borussia Dortmund's U19s. Coach Benjamin Hoffmann's charges finished third in the group behind Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur – who signed off with a 4-1 win over Nicosia – after losing 2-1 to the Spanish side on Matchday 6.

Jadon Sancho initially fired the visitors into a 15th-minute lead from the spot at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano after Adri had fouled Robin Kehr, but Madrid dominated the match and restored parity when Oscar converted a free-kick on the 23-minute mark. The winning goal came in the 73rd minute, when Dani Gomez deservedly found the net for the hosts.

BVB will now turn their full focus back to the Bundesliga. They are next in action on Sunday against SC Paderborn (kick-off 11:00 CET, NLZ Brackel). (wiwi)
