Goals are guaranteed when Borussia Dortmund take on Hamburg. BVB fans have seen their side score 182 times in previous editions of this fixture, while HSV have found the net 179 times. With a total of 361 goals, Dortmund-Hamburg is the highest-scoring pairing in Bundesliga history. Saturday will be the 102nd time the teams meet in the competition.

The scenario: Fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund have scored at least three goals in each of their last four meetings with 17th-placed Hamburg. If BVB win this weekend, it will be the first time ever they have beaten HSV five times in a row. In addition, it would be the Black & Yellows' 500th home win in the Bundesliga (in their 859th game).

Home/away: BVB have won seven of their last nine at home to HSV and have only lost one of their last five league matches on home turf (a 2-1 defeat by Bremen on 9 December 2017). Hamburg are winless in nine games on the road, last claiming an away victory when they won 3-1 at Köln on 25 August 2017.

Personnel matters: BVB are definitely without at least seven players (Guerreiro, Schmelzer, Sancho, Philipp, Yarmolenko, Rode and Durm), while the date of Reus' return has not yet been decided. HSV are missing Papadopoulos, Müller and Thoelke.

Head-to-head: It's the highest-scoring pairing in Bundesliga history, having produced 361 goals in the 101 previous fixtures. There have been 52 – an average of four per game – in the last 13 meetings. There have previously been 38 penalties (17 for BVB, 21 for HSV). HSV have only won ten of the 19 matches in Dortmund in which they have taken the lead.

Statistics: Only Munich and Leverkusen have fewer defeats than Dortmund (five). BVB are unbeaten in six, while Hamburg are winless in their last eight. HSV last won when they beat Hoffenheim 3-0 on 26 November 2017. Only Köln have more defeats this season (14) than Hamburg (12).

Biggest home win: Lothar Emmerich, Wosab (both two), Paul, Peehs and Cyliax scored as BVB thrashed HSV 7-0 on Matchday 32 of the 1966/67 season. That defeat, on 20 May 1967, is Hamburg's second-biggest in the Bundesliga.

Attendance: SIGNAL IDUNA PARK is sold-out with 81,360 fans set to attend, including an away contingent of 8,000.

Referee: Marco Fritz from Korb in Württemberg will oversee his 18th BVB match. The Black & Yellows have won both matches he has previously refereed this season: a 2-0 home win over Hertha Berlin and a 2-1 away victory in Augsburg.
