Borussia Dortmund's U19s have closed the gap at the top of the West German championship. Benjamin Hoffmann's charges strolled to a comfortable 5-0 victory over Arminia Klosterhardt to draw level with leaders FC Schalke 04, who were held to a 1-1 draw in Paderborn.

The Black & Yellows delivered a convincing attacking performance against Klosterhardt, with Dominik Wanner (two), Paul Besong, Yassin Ibrahim and Enrique Pena Zauner the goalscorers for a clearly superior BVB side.

Up next is a top-of-the-table clash between Schalke and BVB in Gelsenkirchen-Ückendorf on Sunday. Today's U17 league game at Alemannia Aachen was cancelled. (wiwi)
