The BVB Learning Centre, an initiative launched by Fan-Projekt Dortmund e.V., has been educating young people on political issues since 2004. The Learning Centre is located under the South Stand at Signal Iduna Park and is financed by the BVB foundation "leuchte auf", among others. The modules on offer, which include topics such as civil courage and discrimination, are attended by over 3,000 young people each year.

That long-term commitment has now been honoured in a special way. In receiving second place in the category of "free and municipal organisations" at the DFB Integration Awards, the Learning Centre has been recognised at the most prestigious national awards for matters related to football and social responsibility. In addition to the training sessions at the stadium, the intercultural stadium festival "Our Ball Connects The World" and the project "My City – My Club" for migrant youths were factored into the decision.

The award strengthens the Black and Yellow commitment to matters of diversity and integration associated with BVB and provides excellent motivation for the implementation of further ideas and future projects related to political youth education work at the stadium.
