A Borussia Dortmund squad including new signings and long-term absentee Sebastian Rode – but without the World Cup participants – has begun preparations for the 2018/19 season. As in previous years, performance diagnostics have been the focus on the first two training days.

At the Hoeschpark situated in the vicinity of the "Weiße Wiese", an historic venue for the club, the BVB players completed laps of the track for the obligatory lactate test. Divided into groups, they were put through various tests over the course of the day. That included medical tests, a running analysis and a functional analysis of the muscoloskeletal system in Brackel. The diagnostics will continue tomorrow, when spiroergometry (respiratory measurement) will be the focus.

Open training session on Monday

Things will properly get going again on Monday, when the Black & Yellows will be back on the training ground. The first training session, scheduled to start at 10:30 CET, will be open to media representatives and fans. However, please note that there are limited parking spaces due to ongoing building works. We highly recommend that you travel with public transport. (br)
