This Sunday evening will see Borussia Dortmund take on Champions League finalists Liverpool in Charlotte in the second match of their International Champions Cup campaign. The match will be shown live on SPORT1 from 22:00 CET. Lucien Favre and Marwin Hitz spoke at a press conference in the run-up to the game.

Favre wants to see further signs of progress in the third game under his leadership, having already overseen 1-0 wins over Austria Vienna and Manchester City. However, he concedes it is only a pre-season friendly. "The most important thing for us is to prepare the team for the Bundesliga. We still have a lot to do. Many players have not yet come back," said the coach at a press conference. His objective for the coming days? "That we make further signs of progress. We started two weeks ago. We've trained well. We've trained very hard."

Among the Black & Yellows who began pre-season a fortnight ago is new signing Marwin Hitz. "I want to develop further, even though I've reached an age at which some don't want to develop further," said the new arrival from Augsburg. "That's why I've taken this step."

Of the changes he has noticed since joining, the Swiss international said: "I see a lot of the ball. You need to make the right decisions at the right time." He spoke of being part of a process "that I'm happy to be involved in. Of course, it's a lot of fun to see more of the ball." Equally, it's clear that "Borussia Dortmund's thinking is that the goalkeeper should make fewer saves than the Augsburg keeper".

So far, he's saved every ball that's come at him. And he'll be hoping for another clean sheet to add to his collection in the third friendly against Liverpool tonight. (br)
