A 2-1 victory in extra-time away to Greuther Fürth saw Borussia Dortmund progress to the the second round of the DFB Cup on Monday night. ''We knew it would be difficult,'' said Roman Bürki in his description of what was a challenging evening at Sportpark Ronhof.

Roman Bürki: ''We knew that it would be really difficult. Fürth really played well. Although we had control of the game, we couldn't quite make the most of the numerous chances we had. All our attention was on tonight's match, at the end of the day we're just happy to be in the second round. Now we feel ready for the Bundesliga.''

Marco Reus: ''As expected it was really tough for us tonight. Fürth were tight and compact, they made life difficult for us. We couldn't get the 1-0 lead, which meant it got harder and harder for us. The team wasn't quite there, we didn't quite have confidence in ourselves tonight. Now we just have to look at the positives and accept the ugly win.''
