Borussia Dortmund will kick off a season with a home game for the eighth time since 2008. Their record? Five victories and two defeats − which have both come at the hands of Leverkusen. This time their opening day opponent is Rasenballsport Leipzig. Here we bring you the facts on Sunday's match at Signal Iduna Park (kick-off 18:00 CET).

The scenario: It will be the second competitive match of the season for BVB − but the seventh for Leipzig. Both teams recorded 1-0 wins in the First Round of the DFB Cup: Leipzig beat Regionalliga outfit Viktoria Köln by a 3-1 scoreline, while Dortmund claimed a 2-1 win over second-tier side Fürth after extra-time.

Home/away: BVB won four of their final five home games of the 2017/18 campaign, scoring 12 goals and conceding four. Their away record from the second half of last season? Three wins, two draws and three defeats.

Personnel matters: Lucien Favre will provide a personnel update on Friday.

Head-to-head: BVB have at least one win against all 52 of the teams they have previously faced in the German top-flight. Their win over Leipzig, by a 1-0 scoreline, came in the 2016/17 season.
