When Roman Weidenfeller takes to the field at Signal Iduna Park for the final time in his playing career on Friday, he will be surrounded by a multitude of top stars from a career that has spanned almost two decades since it began in Kaiserslautern in 1999.

The "Roman and Friends" team, who will take on the "BVB All-Stars", will include a number of renowned players that featured alongside Weidenfeller at the Betzenberg. Among them are Michael Ballack, Thomas Hengen, who himself played for Borussia towards the end of the 1990s, Olaf Marschall, Per Mertesacker, World Cup winner Lukas Podolski, Christoph Metzelder, the Egyptian Hany Ramzy and fellow shot-stopper Tim Wiese.

With so many high-calibre names involved, the fans can look forward to a match that will see them reunited with Marcio Amoroso, who fired the club to the 2002 Bundesliga title and won the Torjägerkanone as the division's top-scorer, as well as other Brazilians such as Dede, Ewerthon and Evanilson. Other participants include Jan Koller, Torsten Frings and Kevin Großkreutz. Sebastian Kehl, the Head of the Licensed Player Division, will also feature in the game, where he will be joined by Alex Frei, Ebi Smolarek and Neven Subotic. The team will be coached by Jürgen Klopp.

The advance sale of tickets continues in the BVB FanWorld, the official BVB advance sales points, via the BVB Call Centre (01805/309000 | €0.14 per minute from a landline, max. €0.42 per minute from a mobile network) and on bvb.de/tickets. In addition, the box offices will be open on Friday. (br)
