The U23 Borussia Dortmund squad will play their next away game in the Regionalliga on Saturday. Head coach Jan Siewert's team will face SV Rödinghausen at 14:00 CET. The East Westphalians are currently unbeaten but have been unable to win in their last three games.

Enrico Maaßen's team have had two shock results in different cup competitions. In the first round of the DFB Cup, SVR eliminated second division team Dynamo Dresden. In the Westphalia Cup, third division club Lotte had the wind taken out of their sails in the first round.

The Borussians have a game in hand and are two points behind SV Rödinghausen, sitting at sixth place in the table. A win on Saturday would see the Black & Yellows jump up to fourth, nearing the top of the group. The statistics are favourable as well. BVB has never lost to SV Rödinghausen in a total of six games in the Regionalliga. Head-to-head, BVB have four victories and two draws with an aggregate total score of 14-6 to BVB.

Jan Siewert will still have to do without the injured Marco Hober (thigh injury), Jonas Hupe (muscular problems), Denzeil Boadu (knee injury) and Haymenn Bah-Traoré (knee surgery).

After the match on Saturday, Borussia Dortmund's U23s will once again have a long break. The West German Football Association (WDFV) announced on Wednesday that the home game against Wuppertal SV will be rescheduled from 15/09 to 18/09. On the same day, the senior squad will play away in the UEFA Champions League against Bruges.
