Borussia Dortmund got preparations for their next competitive fixture (away to VfB Stuttgart, 20 October) underway with a public training session. The match against the team from Stuttgart will mark the start of another busy sequence of seven matches in the space of 22 days.

After a long spell on the sidelines, defensive player Ömer Toprak was able to rejoin his teammates out on the training pitch. The session was nonetheless marked by the absence of the 11 squad members away on international duty. Roman Bürki has been forced to withdraw from his international commitments with the Swiss squad due to a groin complaint.

All the supporters who came out to watch the squad train in the resplendent sunshine were rewarded for their dedication: after the session had finished, all players made sure to sign plenty of autographs and pose for photographs with their fans. (br)
