BVB endured a long wait for their winner against Union Berlin. "What sets us apart at the moment is that we don't lose our nerve," explained Julian Weigl after the last-gasp victory. Here we bring you the match reactions.

Marco Reus: "It was clear to me before the penalty: if I scored it, we were probably through to the next round. In that sense, it's a nice situation to score a penalty and progress to the next round, especially at home. In the end we fulfilled our task. We're through and that's what counts. It wasn't our best game, we know that. Of course, as Borussia Dortmund we want to beat Union Berlin in 90 minutes. For us it was clear that they would be unpleasant to face. You could see today they're very effective and well organised. You have days like that in football. But when you come out on top, everything's fine. We need to analyse it well, we have our next game on Saturday and we need another three points."

Marwin Hitz: "It was the tough match we expected. We approached the task in a serious manner, everyone was well prepared. Nonetheless, it's tough to face a team that's competing at the top of the second tier. We should've perhaps sealed the result at an earlier stage, but it didn't work out. Then it's difficult when you concede an equaliser just before the final whistle. But the way the team kept their cool is a sign of class. We deserved to win."

Julian Weigl: "Union are an aggressive team who make things difficult for their opponents. That's why it's unpleasant. They're playing on a stage here in front of over 70,000 fans. They've come here and enjoyed that. For us it's a game we have to win, so that's a difficult situation. I'm happy we won, and that we did so before a penalty shootout. What sets us apart at the moment is that we don't lose our nerve, we stay focused and know that we're capable of scoring a goal."
