SC Freiburg were concentrated in defence and conceded few chances. Borussia Dortmund only managed 11 shots on goal. But conversely, BVB were also very stable in defence: Freiburg only managed five shots on goal, with only one coming during the second passage of play.

Safe: On matchday 13 this season, Marco Reus took his 13th penalty in the Bundesliga, converting for the eleventh time.

Impact sub: Paco Alcácer scored his ninth goal off the bench, meaning he has already matched the historic record for a season set by Nils Petersen (2016/17 for Freiburg) and Ioan Viorel Ganea (2002/03 for Stuttgart). The Spaniard has scored in each of his sixth appearances as a substitute. Nine goals as a substitute likewise constitutes a new club record (he had been level with Amoroso and Ewerthon up until now).

Assist king: Jadon Sancho was involved in eight of BVB's shots on goal, won the penalty for 1-0 and was the decisive player in the build-up on the way to 2-0 (he played the penultimate pass). The Englishman now has nine assists to his name: a Borussia player has never had so many after 13 rounds.

Ball magnet: Axel Witsel had 143 touches of the ball, more than any other Dortmund player so far this season.

Safe in possession: Only 7 percent of BVB's passes failed to find their man.

Streak: It was also Borussia's 15th successive Bundesliga match against Sport-Club without losing to them. They have only dropped points in two of these 15 fixtures against them.

Run: Dortmund have won eight of their last nine Bundesliga matches, have picked up 25 of a possible 27 points and can, as a result, travel to Schalke next week filled with confidence.
