Bremen shot-stopper Jiri Pavlenka kept his team in the game right until the end, making eight saves. By the end, Borussia Dortmund had had almost twice as many shots as Werder Bremen (17-9). Here are the match facts.

Winning streak: Lucien Favre has now guided his team to six successive Bundesliga victories; Jürgen Klopp is the only coach in the lengthy history of the club to have guided the Black & Yellows to longer winning runs.

Offensive prowess: Marco Reus' goal to put BVB 2-0 up moved him level alongside Frankfurt forward Sebastian Haller at the top of the scorer point charts (18 points). That means BVB have the players with the most scorer points, the most goals (Paco Alcácer) and the most assists (Jadon Sancho) in their ranks.

Goal-getter: Paco Alcácer's 11th Bundesliga goal came in his 378th minute on the pitch in the competition. No player has ever scored so many goals in such a short period of time. It was his first Bundesliga goal with his head, having previously scored nine times with his right foot and once with his left boot.

Record season: Marco Reus scored his 10th goal of the season and has already equalled his record for the first half of a Bundesliga campaign. That tally was reached over the entire first half of the 2011/12 season, while he was still a Borussia Mönchengladbach player.

Provider: Jadon Sancho's assist for the second goal was already his 10th in the Bundesliga this term. That's the most in the division and no BVB has ever set up so many goals in the first 15 rounds of matches since records began.

Winter champions: Borussia Dortmund have become winter champions for the fourth time in their history.

Unbeaten: The current BVB side is the eighth team in the history of the Bundesliga to be unbeaten after 15 rounds of matches. But only four of the previous seven clubs ended the season as champions.

Strong display: Raphael Guerreiro followed up his gala performance in Monaco, in which he scored twice, with an excellent Bundesliga display. He assisted the opener and set up five shots − more than any other BVB player.

Midfield maestro: Axel Witsel pulled the strings in central midfield once again and had the highest tackle win rate of all the Dortmund players at 73 percent.

Familiar face: Nuri Sahin delivered a good performance at his former stomping ground, covering more distance than any other Werder player (12.1 kilometres) and winning 67 percent of his challenges.
