Borussia Dortmund's win over Borussia Mönchengladbach puts clear daylight between the two teams at the top of the table heading into the winter break. Here we bring you the reactions from a happy BVB Camp after their 2-1 victory.

Lucien Favre: "It was a deserved victory. We had more possession and more chances. 2-1 is okay, it's three points. Marco Reus has been superb in the first half of the season. He was always there and played almost every match, only missing out against Monaco in the Champions League. We're happy to have a break now."

Michael Zorc: "We put in a very good performance and deserved to win. We controlled the game for lengthy spells. The build-up play for the second goal was especially excellent, and the first was a great individual effort from Sancho. We're still at the top of the table, things are looking good. For me the performance carries a greater significance than the lead. 42 points is the club's second-highest tally ever at the halfway stage. A big compliment to the team and the coaching staff, who have produced an outstanding display."

Mario Götze: "Winning 2-1 at home, and doing so against Gladbach, has a positive impact for the winter break. It was very important for us to win, given that we lost in Düsseldorf. Today we showed a reaction, that was important. We battled for it. I was sitting on the bench and could only see that Paco had gone down. I had to get onto the pitch quickly, it worked well. We did well in the build-up to the second goal. Marco made a good run through. It's always nice when you play a role in goals and win the game to boot. Everyone is motivated. If we continue in the same vein and continue to pay attention to the details, then I'm optimistic."

Marco Reus: "At the beginning it was really difficult. For us it was important to be patient and to close down the gaps. Julian Weigl and Ömer Toprak did that brilliantly today. I'm proud of the team. They gave it their all. In the second half in particular, it was a show of desire. For Paco, Mario and me, it was difficult to close down and press. We analysed the match against Düsseldorf. We cannot allow ourselves a performance like that. But we're only human. The first half of the season was energy-sapping. It's good we have such strength in depth. We hope we'll all stay fit and continue to deliver performances. Then much is possible."
