Jeremy Toljan has joined Celtic on loan from Borussia Dortmund shortly before the end of the transfer window. The 24-year-old defender will be with the Scottish Premiership league leaders for half a year, with the loan spell set to end on 30 June 2019.

The Stuttgart native joined BVB from TSG Hoffenheim at the end of August 2017 and has made 23 appearances in a Black & Yellow shirt over the past one and a half years, scoring a goal and notching two assists. Toljan is hoping for a new sporting challenge with the Scottish league and cup winners.

"We hope Jeremy gets as much game time as possible and will closely monitor his performances," said sporting director Michael Zorc of Toljan, who won the European U21 Championship in 2017.
