"It'll do us good to win 4-0 here," said a delighted Mario Götze after scoring in the win over Freiburg. He and Marco Reus both fielded questions from reporters after the match and looked ahead to next week's derby.

Marco Reus: "In terms of the result it was the perfect afternoon, but in terms of the game itself it was difficult in such temperatures. It was important for us that we went 1-0 ahead early on, because we've been slightly unsettled in the past few weeks. Today we delivered a cohesive team performance from the first minute and were able to go up a notch in the second period. The margin of victory was perhaps a bit too high, but we're very happy with the win. We need to focus on our performance – which hasn't been at the level we've hoped for in the past few weeks. It's important that we stick together in the difficult moments and continue to believe that we can become champions. We want to keep up the pressure on Bayern until the end, and we managed to do that again today by winning. We need to recover over the course of the next two days, and then we'll prepare ourselves for the derby. That won't be an ordinary game, we know that. But we're playing at home, our confidence is high and we want to stay in the running."

Mario Götze: "The three points are the most important thing. It'll do us good to win 4-0 here. In the end it was comfortable, but it was hard work over long periods and that shouldn't be forgotten. The first goal did us a lot of good and gave us security. If it'd stayed 0-0 for longer, it would've been more difficult. Adding the second and third goals was important. It was a good game for us. We have our next game coming up next weekend. We need to ensure that we get the three points there. At the end, the points will be tallied and then we'll see where we're at. Everything is still possible. We'll keep going and give it our all."
