Manuel, you were really emotional directly after the final whistle in the derby and it was clear the defeat had really gotten to you. Take us through your thoughts and feeling in those moments right after the game.

I was really disappointed because I had the feeling that we could've done so much better. We made a very good start to the game but then came the penalty and it was 1-1. In the second half, too, I had a good feeling that we could turn the game around – but the red card and the free-kick goal made things very difficult. Even though we tried very hard with nine men and even managed to pull a goal back, our hopes were dashed once again. We were all very disappointed because we knew that we could've won the game 3-0 or 4-0 if things had gone differently.

You're off to Bremen on Saturday. You've already experienced on two occasions this season how difficult it is to face Werder. Where can you look to for the strength you'll need to get a result there?

Sunday's result will spur us on to get a good result this weekend. Many people were thinking that it might now all be over, as the situation became a lot more difficult for us following our defeat. But Bayern's draw has given us hope. We now need to carry that into the match on Saturday and give it our all to get the victory there.

You're without your captain, Marco, for two matches. You were wearing the armband at the end on Saturday and you'll have increased responsibility to bear over the coming weeks. You're only 23 years old, how does this role suit you?

First and foremost, I'll be focused on leading the way with my performance. Of course, if anyone needs a helping hand, then I'll try to be there. There's definitely still more for me to learn. The most important thing is to lead the way with your performance and I try to do that on the pitch.
