Borussia's U19 Bundesliga team retain every chance of reaching the U19 German Championship Final on Monday after drawing 2-2 at FC Schalke 04.

Benjamin Hoffmann's U19 team dominated the game at the Niederrhein Oberhausen Stadium in front of a crowd of 5,300. However, BVB U19 failed to carve out a clear advantage and conceded a cruel equaliser in the fourth minute of added time.

Tobias Raschl fired BVB ahead in the 20th minute, following up from a penalty, but Schalke levelled before the break from a highly-debatable penalty from their captain Can. Emre Aydinel restored BVB U19's advantage with an exquisite free-kick in the 64th minute and Reda Khadra rattled the post with 10 minutes remaining, before Biskup equalised for Schalke somewhat fortuitously in the final minute of added time.

BVB would appreciate every support for the return leg which takes place on Monday at the Rote Erde Stadium (kick-off 6.45 pm).
