Borussia Dortmund's U17s made the comfortable start to the 2019/20 season they had been hoping for, easing to a 6-0 victory over Wuppertaler SV on the opening day.

The promoted outfit might ultimately count themselves fortunate the margin of defeat wasn't greater, with the 6-0 scoreline coming courtesy of goals from Göktan Gürpüz (two), Colin Kleine-Bekel, Nnamdi Collins, Bekir El-Zein and Dominick Wasilewski. Next up for the U17s will be their first real test of the season away to Preußen Münster next Saturday, before they welcome FC Schalke 04 to Brackel for the Ruhr derby on Wednesday 21 August (18:00 CET).
