BVB fan club ''Oelder Borussen 09'' help renovate day-care centre
The ''leuchte auf" project "Schwarzgelbe Familie" (Black & Yellow Families) has already supported 30 fan club projects involving social organisations. Most recently, the "Oelder Borussen 09" fan club supported a day-care centre for children and were delighted to receive a donation from ''leuchte auf'' amounting to €4,000.
2019 has been a year of many renovations at the ''Kinderhaus'' in Oelde. To be more precise, the entirety of the outside play area has been redesigned. It was decided that the play area, which serves over 80 children, should be given a new design to bring it closer to nature. For the realisation of the project, three separate phases of construction were drawn up. It was clear from the very outset that extensive work would be required. The newly-introduced changes are designed to promote the childrens' motor and creative development in the best possible way. The construction of new playground equipment, the creation of new paths and flower beds as well as the introduction of a new barbecue and seating area are among the bright ideas that have been made a reality over the past few months.
Those responsible at the institution were aware that the realisation of this ambitious project would be dependent on material donations and a large proportion of volunteer work. The members of the BVB fan club "Oelder Borussen 09" learned about the project and took it upon themselves to get involved. On various days, a team of 20 fan club members came along to do their part on the construction site. Among other things, they helped to redesign a roofed seating area and play corner for the children. In late summer temperatures, all the children and dedicated volunteers were delighted to receive a visit from club mascot EMMA, who was hugely impressed by the progress that had been made in the renovation work.
As part of its focus on promoting "engagement" and indeed its ''Schwarzgelbe Familie'' (Black & Yellow Families) project, the BVB foundation continues to support social and voluntary initiatives, especially those involving BVB fan clubs. "We were very happy that the members of Oelder Borussen 09 got in touch with us to share their thoughts. It was therefore possible for us to take on part of the financial outlay and support the remarkable voluntary work of the fan club," says Thomas Klein of "leuchte auf".
Over the past few years, the BVB Foundation has repeatedly invited fan clubs to participate in the "Schwarzgelbe Familie" campaign. "Even though there is no current call for projects at the moment, it is still a matter of course for us to look into supporting BVB fan clubs that have submitted their ideas to "leuchte auf". Just like the fan club from Oelde did recently. ''It's all in the spirit of the Black & Yellow family," says Thomas Klein in his summary of the foundation's work.
