Matchday 14 of the Regionalliga West season sees the Borussia Dortmund U23s travel to the Sportpark Nord in Bonn to take on Bonner SC on Saturday (14:30 CET).

There was a real sense of disappointment among the BVB staff following the defeat to SV Lippstadt last weekend. Coach Mike Tullberg described it as "a deserved victory for Lippstadt, because they wanted the result more than us in decisive periods of the game". However, he knows his young Dortmund team are on a learning curve and they have still managed to win three of their last five matches. They currently occupy ninth spot in the table with 16 points on the board, and they have two games in hand as well.

Bonner SC, meanwhile, are currently on a winning streak. Coach Thorsten Nehrbauer's charges have taken maximum points from each of their past four games and have not tasted defeat since losing 4-0 away to RW Essen a month ago. The men from the Rhineland are more or less on track in their current position of eighth: they have 19 points and an even goal difference, which has been improved by their recent successes.

However, the hosts have struggled slightly in front of their fans at the Sportpark Nord, winning only two of their previous five home games this term. Bonner SC won 2-0 in the last meeting between the teams in November 2018.
