On the tennis court, in the café, at the harbour – BVB players spent their free afternoon here, there and everywhere at the training camp in Marbella. With batteries recharged, the players immediately got back to work on the “La Dama de Noche” training pitch on Thursday.

The Costa del Sol sunshine only briefly made an appearance on Thursday, but the BVB players were really made to sweat on day six. Playing firstly with the ball in the morning during an intensive match without goals, followed by an 11 vs. 11 on a full pitch. New signing Erling Haaland made his first appearance on the training pitch, leading the line for team yellow.

Various playing systems were tested under the eyes of Hans-Joachim Watzke, Carsten Cramer and Michael Zorc. Fortuna Düsseldorf players who had trained on a nearby pitch and had finished their session early watched the action for a while. The same rang true for Thomas Delaney and Marcel Schmelzer, who had both trained individually in the team hotel.

Marco Reus, Thorgan Hazard and Immanuel Pherai all performed individual exercises with Otto Addo on the sidelines during the matches and did not take part in the action as a precaution.

Small pitch tournament in the afternoon

In the afternoon, things were equally as busy. Firstly, Favre trained tactics with the lads, followed by lots of action on a small pitch. Small teams, lots of touches of the balls and challenges: the intensity was therefore even higher than in the morning. Rounded off by the annual photo with the team together with the loyal fans who had accompanied and supported the team in Marbella.

The Black & Yellows will again hold two sessions on Friday, before two friendlies await Borussia the next day with Feyenoord Rotterdam (midday) and Mainz 05 (5 pm).
