The Borussia Dortmund U19s got off to a winning start in 2020 as they emerged 2-1 victors in their friendly match against south German outfit FC Ingolstadt. ''That was an enjoyable and successful friendly match,'' said coach Michael Skibbe, who was unable to call on the services of Ramzi Ferjani, Alaa Bakir, Immanuel Pherai, Giovanni Reyna (all of whom are with the first team at training camp in Marbellla) as well as Reda Khadra (away with the U23s). A light ankle injury meant Youssoufa Moukoko was consigned to the bench.

The BVB goals (both of them assisted by Julius Rauch) were scored by Rilind Hetemi and Maik Amedick respectively. Ingolstadt were able to pull one back in the latter stages of the encounter. The U19s are next in action on Wednesday, when they face the senior team of local amateur club ASC 09 Dortmund.
