After five years at Borussia Dortmund, forward Jacob Bruun Larsen, 21, is seeking a new sporting challenge and will join TSG Hoffenheim with immediate effect.

“Following intensive deliberations, we’ve granted Jacob his request to be released and would like to wish him all the best for his next stop. We’ll continue to keep close tabs on his sporting progress,” said sporting director Michael Zorc.

Bruun Larsen joined the Borussia Dortmund youth academy from Lyngby BK in January 2015. The then-16-year-old soon became one of the key performers in the youth set-up, winning the U17 and U19 German titles in three successive seasons alongside his friend Christian Pulisic and representing Denmark in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Professional debut against Union Berlin

Bruun Larsen made his debut for the BVB first team in a DFB Cup tie against Union Berlin on 26 October 2016. He has since made a further 39 appearances for the Black & Yellows in the UEFA Champions League, DFB Cup and Bundesliga, scoring three goals. The likeable Dane made his senior international debut in a 2-2 draw with Kosovo on 21 March 2019.

"I would like to thank my BVB coaches and team-mates, as well as all the staff and fans for their support and an incredible time. Even though I am now switching clubs, I will always hold them dear to my heart," said Jacob Bruun Larsen.
