BVB mascot EMMA will regularly report to you in the future about what you can discover in the BVB Evonik Football Academy. In the section #EMMA EXPLORES, the Black & Yellow bee takes a close look at our football academy! In a very first visit to the academy, Emma meets football legend Jörg Heinrich.

In Dortmund's Strobelallee is a decent football ground with a small and a large artificial turf pitch. If you let the ball run over the turf, you can look directly at the most beautiful stadium in the world - Signal Iduna Park. Until 2006, Borussia Dortmund’s professionals trained at this site. Today, this is hardly conceivable, if you consider the small space on offer in comparison to the current training ground set up in Brackel. The "legend wall" (a legend is a person who has achieved or performed extraordinary feats and is very well known for it) impressively shows which football heroes have already laced up their boots here.

At this special place I meet Jörg Heinrich, a former well-respected professional footballer, who played 195 competitive games for Borussia Dortmund and scored a respectable 24 goals. He even took part in the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France with the German national team. Jörg is also amazed, because today's BVB Evonik Football Academy offers such a wide range of courses, which means there is really something for everyone! From ballgame courses for 4 and 5-year-olds, holiday courses, matchdays and promotional courses for 6-13 year olds, right up to footballers aged over 60. You can rest assured more and more heroes will be born here!

In the coming weeks I will take you behind the scenes and show you what else there is to discover in the BVB Evonik Football Academy!
