Borussia Dortmund will face MSV Duisburg in the first round of the 2020/21 DFB Cup. The match will take place between 11 and 14 September (Friday to Monday).

DFB president Fritz Keller and deputy general secretary Heike Ullrich made the draw for the 32 first-round fixtures in Cologne on Sunday.

BVB won't have far to travel for the first competitive match of the 2020/21 season: MSV Duisburg's home ground, the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena, is located a mere 48 kilometres away from SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. Borussia have previously been matched up against the third-tier side in the DFB Cup once before in club history: in the 1974/1975 season, the Black & Yellows lost their semi-final encounter with MSV in extra time (2-1).

The DFB will announce the exact scheduling for the first-round fixtures as soon as possible once all potential venues have been registered. (cr)
