Six Black & Yellows were in action on the final day of the October international break, with three additional BVB players having already represented their countries on Tuesday.

Axel Witsel and Thomas Meunier started for Belgium as the Red Devils ran out 2-1 winners away to Iceland.

Jadon Sancho and Thomas Delaney went head to head as England hosted Denmark. While Sancho came on as a 73rd-minute substitute, Delaney played from the start and had a hand in the only goal of the game. He won the penalty that was converted by Christian Eriksen to give the Danes a 1-0 win.

Raphael Guerreiro played the full 90 minutes as Portugal dispatched Sweden 3-0.

Erling Haaland came off in the 87th minute of Norway's 1-0 victory against Northern Ireland. The striker, who had previously netted a hat-trick against Romania to take his Nations League scoring tally to six goals, had the first chance of the game in the second minute but could not find the net.

A day earlier on Tuesday, Jude Bellingham played the full 90 minutes as England claimed a 2-1 victory over Turkey in a qualifier for the U21 European Championships.

Elsewhere, Emre Can came on for former Borussia Dortmund man Matthias Ginter in the German national team's 3-3 draw against Switzerland in the Nations League. Julian Brandt was an unused substitute. Manuel Akanji was absent from the Switzerland squad following his coronavirus diagnosis.

Felix Passlack came on in the 87th minute for the Germany U21s. The DFB youngsters recorded a 1-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina in a qualifier for the U21 European Championships. (cr)
