Lionel Messi? No. Cristiano Ronaldo? No. Erling Haaland is the first player in the history of the UEFA Champions League to score 14 goals after 11 matches at the highest level. Here are the match facts:

Clean sheet: Borussia Dortmund stopped their opponents from scoring for the fourth match in a row and have kept a clean sheet in six of their last seven games.

Haaland's run: The 20-year-old striker struck for the fourth BVB game in a row, making it ten goals in ten competitive matches this season, and scored his 13th and 14th goals in his 11th Champions League match. No one has managed to do that faster than him.

Witsel's routine: Axel Witsel played his 103rd Champions League game in an unfamiliar position, but still managed to find a teammate with 92% of his passes and won 75% of his duels – no one on the pitch could better those stats.

Morey's debut: After six matches in the Bundesliga, Mateu Morey, 20, played his first minutes in the UEFA Champions League.

Corner, goal: For the fourth time this season, and for the fourth time in the last ten days, a corner led to a BVB goal (previously twice against Schalke, once in Bielefeld).

Belgium – a happy hunting ground: Borussia Dortmund have now won their last four away games in Belgium without conceding: In 2004, we won 1-0 in Genk, 2014 saw a clear 3-0 win at RSC Anderlecht, and we have now recorded victories in Brugge in 2018 and 2020 (1-0, 3-0).

Good going: BVB have won six of their last 10 Champions League games. (br)
