Enrico Maaßen has been in charge of the BVB U23s since the summer. Things have been going exceptionally well for him and his team this season. In this week's episode of the BVB Podcast, presented by 1&1, Maaßen spoke to us about his start to life in Dortmund.

BVB currently find themselves at the summit of the Regionalliga West table: ''What impresses me the most, and what we've been doing well, is that we're not just playing good football; we're also really battling. The way the lads are imposing themselves at the moment is outstanding.''

''Enno'' was also highly successful at his former clubs: He was able to lead Drochtersen/Assel to the fourth tier, despite the limited means at his disposal. Then, the man from northern Germany guided Rödinghausen to the top of the Regionalliga in the spring before the season was halted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Then came the offer from Dortmund, and the up-and-coming coach didn't have to think twice before accepting: ''I was absolutely delighted to get this opportunity and I'm very proud to be here. It was important to show the appropriate respect in making the move. But it was 100 percent what I wanted to do.''

The 36-year-old has hit the ground running since taking charge of the Black & Yellows. In the BVB Podcast, presented by 1&1, he talks to us about his first months at the club, his career so far and what's important to him as a coach.
