It hasn't taken long for youngsters Gio Reyna and Jude Bellingham to become good friends at BVB, and on Thursday, both of them were able to share one of the greatest moments in the career of any footballer. Bellingham made his England debut, while Gio Reyna won his first cap for the USA - both of them at 17 years of age.

Jude Bellingham watched on from the sidelines of Wembley Stadium until being subbed on in the 73rd minute of his country's friendly with Ireland. Bellingham witnessed his Black & Yellow teammate Jadon Sancho score an excellent goal on the half-hour mark. The 17-year-old then entered the field of play in place of Chelsea's Mason Mount and in doing so became the third-youngest player in history to represent the Three Lions. In the end, Bellingham and Sancho, who played the full 90 minutes, celebrated a comfortable 3-0 win.

One day before his 18th birthday, Gio Reyna received an early present in the form of his first cap for the US national team. Reyna steps in the footsteps of his father Claudio, who represented the US in 112 international matches. Gio Reyna was named in the starting line-up for the 0-0 draw in Wales and played 79 minutes before being substituted.

Wednesday evening saw Germany defeat the Czech Republic 2-0. Julian Brandt played the full 90 minutes, while Mo Dahoud and Nico Schulz came on as substitutes in the 46th and 60th minutes respectively. Thomas Delaney's Denmark triumphed 2-0 in a Scandinavian showdown with Sweden. The 29-year-old was named in the starting line-up and played until the 60th minute.

Two BVB players went head-to-head in the Belgium vs. Switzerland match: Thorgan Hazard and Manuel Akanji. Hazard's Belgium side ran out 2-1 winners over Akanji's Switzerland thanks to a brace from former Dortmund man Michy Batshuayi. Hazard came on in the 90th minute, while Akanji was an unused substitute. Thomas Meunier and Axel Witsel, also called up to the Belgium squad, were given the evening off and followed the match from the stands. Raphael Guerreiro also watched on as his Portugal side defeated Andorra 7-0.

Erling Haaland and the Norway national team were forced out of action as their friendly match against Israel was cancelled at short notice by the health authorities due to positive Covid cases in the opposition squad.
