Reinier was the only Borussia Dortmund player in international action on Tuesday. Despite not playing for the Germany U21s, there was good news for Felix Passlack. A day earlier, on Monday, Giovanni Reyna made history with the USA.

Reinier played the first 67 minutes as the Brazil U23s were beaten 2-1 by their Egyptian counterparts on Tuesday evening.

Also that evening, the Germany U21s qualified for the 2021 European Championships. The DFB youngsters secured top spot in their group courtesy of a 2-1 win over Wales. Felix Passlack was an unused substitute.

Julian Brandt and Mahmoud Dahoud watched on from the bench as the German national team was beaten 6-0 by Spain. The defeat saw Germany drop to second place in their Nations League group – behind Spain.

On Monday evening, the USA recorded a 6-2 victory over Panama in Vienna. The 18-year-old Reyna converted a free-kick in the 18th minute to level the scores up at 1-1, becoming his country's third-youngest goalscorer in the process.

Several other Black & Yellows had earlier represented their countries in the Nations League on Sunday evening. Thomas Meunier, Axel Witsel and Thorgan Hazard helped Belgium go top of League A Group 2 with a 2-0 win over England. All three members of BVB's Belgian contingent played the full 90 minutes. Jadon Sancho came on in the 70th minute, while Jude Bellingham was an unused substitute. In the other match in the group, Thomas Delaney's Denmark defeated Iceland 2-1 thanks to a late goal. Denmark and Belgium will now go head-to-head on Wednesday to decide the group winner. The Belgians will be without the services of the suspended Witsel and Meunier.

Erling Haaland and the Norway national team were unable to play their scheduled match in Romania. After a positive coronavirus test, the Norwegian health authorities barred the team from leaving the country and imposed a quarantine. On Monday morning, the Norwegian Football Association named an entirely new squad for the final group match away to Austria on Wednesday.

Raphael Guerreiro, who played all 90 minutes of Portugal's 1-0 loss to France on Saturday, has returned to Dortmund ahead of schedule due to a muscle problem. He will play no part in Portugal's final Nations League match against Croatia on Tuesday evening.
