As they have so often done this season, Borussia Dortmund improved significantly after the break and ultimately claimed a deserved win. BVB did not have a single shot at goal prior to the interval, but they had 15 attempts after the restart and rewarded themselves for their considerably improved performance with three goals and a victory.

Improved fortunes: Borussia Dortmund have won four of their five competitive games under new coach Edin Terzic; the only slip-up was the 2-1 defeat away to Union Berlin on Matchday 13.

Leipzig a happy hunting ground: BVB have won their third away game in a row against Rasenballsport Leipzig; no other club in the Bundesliga has more than one away win in Saxony.

Improved after the break: The Black & Yellows have scored 26 of their 31 goals this season in the second half. The shot ratio in the second half stood at 15-5 to BVB.

Breached: Leipzig's defence was finally breached after 429 minutes without conceding.

Back on form: Jadon Sancho did not find the net in the opening 13 rounds but he has now scored in two successive league games (three matches in a row in all competitions). It was the Englishman's 32nd Bundesliga goal in 91 appearances in the competition. No other player in Bundesliga history has netted so many times at such a young age (20.79 years). The youngster displaced Klaus Fischer, who was 20.82 years when he scored his 32nd Bundesliga goal.

Historic best: Erling Haaland repeated last season's feat of scoring a brace in Leipzig and netted his 24th and 25th goals on his 25th German top-flight appearance. No other player has scored as often as him in their first 25 Bundesliga matches. The previous record was held by Uwe Seeler (23 goals).

Unchanged: Edin Terzic fielded the same line-up that started the 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg last time out. It was the first time since May 2020 (Matchdays 27 and 28) that BVB have played with the same starting XI two games in a row. (br)
