Following the home win against Arminia Bielefeld, Mats Hummels and Emre Can reflected on the match and looked ahead to the games against Gladbach, Bayern and Sevilla. "We will need to prove whether we really have taken a step forward." Here are the match reactions.

Mats Hummels: "The past three games have gone very well for us. We've won twice in the Bundesliga and put ourselves in a good position in the Champions League. That was important because we had a really bad period before that. They keep coming. We have three absolutely cracking games on Tuesday, Saturday and the following Tuesday. Now we have to prove whether we really have taken a step forward. We're already playing with slightly more purpose and seriousness, but we're not quite yet where we could be. We're training this, watching it in videos. It's something that takes time, of course. It's already gotten better, but we still have room for improvement. That was really good from us today; that was decent. But we also saw that we gave away chances after losing the ball. Despite the lead, we were still hit on the counter-attack a lot. Those are the little things. We're still a long way from where we need to be."

Emre Can: "It was important that we stayed patient today after the first half. We had many good chances in the first half, but didn't take them. We knew that we would get our chances. Then we took advantage of them. Compliments to the team, we deserved to win and we will continue to take it game by game. We want to win every game; that's clear. We now have a big week ahead of us. It'll be tough against Gladbach in the cup, but we can go there feeling self-confident. We've won the last three games and of course we want to progress. We train for games like this, this is a knockout game – and of course, we want to win it."
