Ted Tattermusch, 19, will be a Borussia Dortmund player from the start of next season. The centre-forward will join BVB on a free transfer from third-tier SV Meppen, with a view to representing the U23s. He will sign a three-year contract until the summer of 2024.

The current campaign might still be in full flow, but U23 team manager Ingo Preuß is already planning the squad for the coming season. Tattermusch is the first summer arrival. The towering forward has made nine third-tier appearances for the men from Emsland, but has yet to find the back of the net this season. He has been used exclusively as a substitute by coach Torsten Frings so far.

Tattermusch joined the youth setup at SV Meppen in 2012. He progressed through all the youth ranks at the club and joined the Emsland Youth Academy (JLZ Emsland) in 2014. He scored 12 goals in 24 appearances for the A-Juniors in the Regionalliga-Nord in 2019 and stated his claim for a place within the first-team setup at the club.

Upon graduating from high school, he signed a professional contract with the Emsland club in May 2019. He made 16 league appearances and scored 10 goals for the JLZ Emsland U19s in the 2019/20 campaign. In addition to four cameo appearances in the third division this season, Tattermusch has scored eight times for the second team and has also played for the U19s. Ted Tattermusch is the son of the former player Reinhold Tattermusch, who was a goal-getter for SV Meppen and Stuttgarter Kickers back in the 1990s.

The outgoing Tattermusch is very grateful to SVM: "It is by no means a given as an A-youth player that you get the chance to play in the third-division team." A big thank-you also goes to the Emsland Youth Academy, where they have always supported and encouraged him. "In Dortmund, I want to take the next step and develop my game even further."
