Borussia Dortmund will meet Holstein Kiel in the final four of the DFB Cup. The DFB have now announced the exact scheduling for the encounter in SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

On Saturday 1 May, the Black & Yellows will have the chance to progress to the final in Berlin for the first time since 2017. The semi-final tie with Kiel will kick off at 20:30 CET. The match will be broadcast live in Germany on both Sky and ARD Sportschau. The second semi-final, which will see RB Leipzig go head-to-head with the winner of the still-to-be-played quarter-final match between Jahn Regensburg and Werder Bremen, will take place on Sunday 2 May (kick-off 20:30 CET).

The Black & Yellows started their march to the semis with victories in their first two rounds against MSV Duisburg (5-0) and Eintracht Braunschweig (2-0). In the round of 16, BVB defeated SC Paderborn 3-2 after extra-time and secured their qualification for the semi-finals with a 1-0 win away to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After defeating FC Rielasingen-Arlen in the first round, second-tier Holsten Kiel caused a major upset in the second round when they knocked out record cup-holders Bayern Munich. Kiel continued their march through the competition with wins over SV Darmstadt 98 and Rot-Weiss Essen.

This will be the second time BVB have gone head-to-head with Holsten Kiel in a competitive game: the Black & Yellows faced an away trip to Kiel in the quarter-finals of their triumphant 2011/12 DFB Cup campaign. The match, which took place in February 2012, ended in a 4-0 win for BVB.

The final at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin is scheduled for 13 May (Ascension Day). Borussia Dortmund last made the final in 2017 (when they beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1). (cr)
