"We started the match very well and performed very well in a first half in which we repeatedly put the opposition under pressure and stole of lot of balls from them through our counter-pressing," said Edin Terzic at the post-match press conference, adding: "That got lost a bit during the second half." The coach spoke about the match, personnel matters – and the upcoming final.

Edin Terzic on the balance of play:
The game was open and could have gone in the other direction too. We managed to get close to the opposition goal again in the final minutes and are happy about the winning goal.

...on the team spirit:
It has moved in a very good direction over the course of recent months. We celebrated together. Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Dan-Axel Zagadou were fully invested. That's the way it should be. We have bonded well as a group. The win with 10 men in Wolfsburg, the challenge of facing an unpleasant Kiel side and the late winner today – that brings you together. We can draw a lot of courage and self-confidence from that."

...on the injury-enforced goalkeeping switch at the interval:
It's too early for us to assess that now. He could not continue. We're happy that Roman Bürki was immediately on hand. We obviously hope that Marwin Hitz will be available again on Thursday.

...on the substitution of Mo Dahoud:
He'd had a very good game until that point, was very comfortable on the ball and really livened up our attack. Mo then felt his muscles. We're assuming that he'll be okay for Thursday if he gets a good night's sleep tonight and recovers well tomorrow.

...on Erling Haaland's persistent injury:
That's been surprising to us too. He took an unfortunate knock to a bad place in Wolfsburg. That led to the formation of lots of fluid, and that causes pain. We hope that he'll be able to return to team training at the beginning of next week and will be an option for us in the cup final. We have scored eight goals without him in the past two games, but we would not mind seeing his name on the scoreboard again.

...on the situation heading into Thursday's game:
There are no clear favourites in a final. It's a new game, there's a lot at stake, there can be no draw. We will promise ourselves that we will do everything in our power to end up on the winning side and will not be left looking at the cup, but will be able to touch it instead. We're ready.
