At 22:56, captain Marco Reus, surrounded by his teammates, lifted the DFB-Pokal trophy into the air. The 2021 cup winners celebrated in a shower of golden confetti!

Led by Lukasz Piszczek, the BVB players had climbed up to the podium one by one. Piszczek was wearing a Marcel Schmelzer kit, who went up right behind him. Coach Edin Terzic and captain Marco Reus were the last in the long line. It was Reus who was the first to get his hands on the cup in the middle of the podium. After that, the golden trophy meandered its way through the ranks of the players.

Afterwards, the Black and Yellow celebrations continued on the pitch before the team went through the Marathontor – seeing them framed by the images of the heroes of past cup victories.

Even the injured players who remained at home were not forgotten: Thorgan Hazard wore a Mateu Morey top, Thomas Meunier had Axel Witsel on his back and goalkeeper Jan-Pascal Reckert wore a kit with Marwin Hitz's name on it. (cr)
