"What Edin has done is extraordinary," said Hans-Joachim Watzke after the cup victory. "Being on the podium today is incredible," said the head coach. And Lukasz Piszczek felt "pure emotions". Here are the reactions to the game:

Hans-Joachim Watzke: "Piszczu is my hero, my own personal hero. In the final stages of his career, he is such a stabilising influence for us. The performances he has put in on the right in the last few weeks have been outstanding. The lad has been with us since 2010. That's a great story. Leipzig are a strong team. It was clear that they would put the pressure on again. It was also clear, however, that we would still have some chances on the counter-attack. Jadon cost me three years of my life with one bit of play, but we are happy now. Huge compliments to the team and the coach. What Edin has done is extraordinary. For him, of course, I am also extremely pleased."

Edin Terzic: "I have been part of the staff at Borussia Dortmund since 2010. I have been in almost every corner of this stadium in Berlin to watch a cup final. I have watched the presentation ceremony from behind, from the other side. Being on the podium today is incredible. It's an indescribable feeling. I feel a lot of pride because we've come a very long way in the past few weeks and months. You could not have predicted this in February. We are proud that in May we are cup winners and are still able to qualify for the Champions League. We did that as a team!"

Marco Reus: "It's incredible. I had a good feeling the whole time. We are so proud that we could play a game like that. In the second half, we were lucky in a few situations when Leipzig were applying the pressure. I think we played really, really well in the first half. Massive compliments to the team. It was not easy for Edin to take over as an inexperienced coach in a situation like that. He has done really well from day one. We have always backed him. When we are under pressure, that is when we show our quality. We have to show that continuously over the next few years, especially against the supposedly smaller opponents."

Lukasz Piszczek: "I'm very pleased. I've always said I extended my contract because I wanted to end my career with a championship or a cup. Today we did that. I'm very proud of the team. It was pure emotion. I knew my career was slowly coming to an end. I could never have imagined that. Thank you to the team for the performance. I will remember this day for my whole life. Especially for me, it was just great. I can't describe it, it's very emotional."
