Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and midfielder Mahmoud "Mo" Dahoud have agreed a contract extension. The 25-year-old, who was called up to the German senior team for the first time last season, has signed a deal that runs until 30 June 2023.

"Mo is a positive guy who can produce unpredictable moments on the pitch. He proved his potential in the second half of last season. We want to help him continue his positive development," said BVB sporting director Michael Zorc.

Mo Dahoud added: "Borussia Dortmund are a big club where you need to be patient and assert yourself. In recent years, there have been spells that were not easy for me. But I never doubted that this was the right club for me. Criticism or setbacks have always been more of an incentive to me, and I've always felt very, very happy here in Dortmund. Now I'm looking forward to taking the next step with BVB and achieving my full potential."
