BVB player Reinier has helped his native Brazil reach the final of the Olympic Games football tournament. The attacker scored the decisive penalty in the semi-final shootout victory over Mexico.

Reinier came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute of the match. After both normal time and extra-time had ended goalless and all square, the tie was decided by penalties. Two Mexican players missed, while all the Brazilians scored. Reinier dispatched his spot-kick into the bottom right corner to make it 4-1 and put his team through to the final.

The final will take place in Yokohama on Saturday (7 August) at 13:30 German time. The opponent will be the winner of the second semi-final between Japan and Spain. (cr)
