From Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League onwards (versus Sporting Lisbon at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK at 21:00 CET on Tuesday evening), Borussia Dortmund will compete with a colour-contrasted club crest on the front of their shirts.

BVB changed the original jersey – which came under criticism from many fans for not featuring the club emblem on the chest – during the summer within the scope of the UEFA regulations and had a transparent logo printed on it.

However, many fans complained about the lack of visibility of the BVB logo during the 2-1 away win at Besiktas in the opening game of the competition. Borussia Dortmund then contacted UEFA and sought approval for a color-contrasted version of the logo. This request was granted by European football's governing body on Friday afternoon.
