Matchday 15 of the 3. Liga season sees Borussia Dortmund's U23s take on SV Meppen on Saturday (6/11). Kick-off at Stadion Rote Erde is at 14:00 CET, WDR will broadcast the game live on TV.

The men from Emsland will arrive in the Ruhr in ninth place, while BVB go into the game in 10th. SVM coach Rico Schmitt's team currently have the wind in their sails, having followed up a quarter-final victory over league rivals VfL Osnabrück in the Niedersachsenpokal with two league wins against Wehen Wiesbaden and Türkgücü München. Striker Richard Sukuta-Pasu, who had only been signed a few days earlier, scored the winner in a 1-0 victory against the Bavarians. The 31-year-old, who had been without a club, has made almost 200 professional appearances across the top three German leagues in his career – for the likes of Bochum, Leverkusen and Sandhausen. One of his SV Meppen team-mates is former BVB U23 player Lars Bünning. The 23-year-old is a first-team regular and has been involved in three of his side's goals this term. Bünning made 18 appearances for the Black & Yellows.

Dortmund midfielder Tobias Raschl is in a combative mood: "We're expecting a good and strong opponent. They have won their last matches. But we're really looking forward to the game, because we want to get back into our stride after not such a good spell. We want to win at home, that's our objective."

On the personnel front, there have been several positive developments in the Black & Yellow ranks in the past few days. Moritz Broschinski and Florian Krebs both made their competitive comebacks following long spells out injured, while Marco Hober made his return to the starting XI and the French centre-backs Dan-Axel Zagadou and Soumaila Coulibaly have returned following lengthy injury absences. Central defender Niklas Dams, who has recently been carrying a knock, will also return to the fold against Meppen, as will attacking player Cebrail Makreckis, who already made a brief cameo appearance against Viktoria Berlin. Kolbeinn Finnsson and Marco Pasalic remain unavailable, however. It is set to be a special match for BVB centre-forward Ted Tattermusch. The Emsland native played for SV Meppen between 2012 and 2020, progressing through the youth ranks before establishing himself in the third tier.

There are still tickets available for Saturday's game via the Online Shop.
