"We love to spread enthusiasm! From Germany to the entire world."
This is the motto of the BVB Evonik Football Academy, which is now celebrating 10 years of existence, for the new 2021/22 season.

"Borussia Dortmund launch a Football Academy – Invitation to a photo shoot with Günter Kutowski and Lars Ricken on 25 July 2011". This was the brief memo sent out on 21 July 2021 by the former BVB media officer Josef Schneck to inform media representatives about the official opening of the Evonik Football School – as it is still called today. On this exact day 10 years ago, nobody could have suspected that the BVB Evonik Football Academy could generate so much enthusiasm for BVB among young people both in Germany and across the entire world.

This 10th anniversary now offers us the opportunity to reflect on a successful period and at the same time to look ahead to the future. As well as an in-depth interview with the people who brought the academy to life, Christian Diercks, Jan-Frederik Luig and Bärbel Huber, in the current July edition of the BVB members' magazine Borussia, there will additional exciting content to come in the coming months.
