Celebration time for Borussia's U19s: Mike Tullberg's team ran out 6-2 (3-1) winners against Istanbul club Besiktas on Tuesday evening to reach the UEFA Youth League play-off round, which precedes the last 16. The draw will be conducted this Friday.

BVB laid the foundations with a frenetic start, surging into a two-goal lead within the space of five minutes as Julian Rijkhoff slotted home Bradley Fink's pass and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens added another. The visitors pulled one back through Koray Yagci (31), but Abdoulaye Kamara hit back shortly afterwards to make it 3-1.

The Black & Yellows carried over their momentum into the second period. Bradley Fink's shot was well saved by the visiting goalkeeper, but Julian Rijkhoff slotted home the loose ball to make it 4-1. Besiktas came back into the game, however, and reduced the deficit to 4-2 via Emirhan Ilkhan on 55 minutes. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens then re-established the three-goal lead on 63 minutes, before Abdoulaye Kamara completed the scoring at 6-2.

The Borussia Dortmund U19s will round off the year when they take on Hannover 96 in the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals on Sunday (kick-off 15:00 CET).
