Borussia Dortmund's U23s beat Regionalliga outfit Alemannia Aachen by a 4-0 scoreline at their training ground this Tuesday, as coach Enrico Maassen's team finished off their mid-season preparations with a flourish ahead of the return to competitive action after the winter break. The U23s were supported by several members of the first-team squad, with Ansgar Knauff, Youssoufa Moukoko and Steffen Tigges all playing 45 minutes.

A dominant BVB attacked the visitors' goal from the off and had the first opportunities in the early stages. But almost 30 minutes had passed before Youssoufa Moukoko fired into the net following a lovely turn. Most of the away team's attacks were stopped by BVB's committed and focused defending, with real danger only a rare occurrence.

Coach Maassen rang the changes ahead of the second half, with only goalkeeper Drljaca keeping his spot. Having come off the bench, U19 striker Bradley Fink made it 2-0 following outstanding build-up play from Ted Tattermusch, before Immanuel Pherai, back in action after recovering from an injury problem, added a third a short while later. New signing Justin Njinmah completed the scoring at 4-0 following a counter-attack.

The U23s will play their first competitive game of the year away to Waldhof Mannheim next Monday (19:00 CET).
