Squad planning for the 2022/23 campaign in the 3. Liga is in full flow. After the signings of Marcel Lotka and Can Özkan, 20-year-old Bjarne Pudel has become the third new arrival ahead of next season.

Pudel is a central defender and will remain under contract with SC Wiedenbrück in the Regionalliga West until the end of the season, before switching to Dortmund in the summer. The 1.89m-tall defender has been a key player for the East Westphalians this term, featuring in 29 of their 31 matches and scoring a goal in the 2-2 draw against RW Ahlen in the first half of the campaign. Overall, the ball-playing centre-back has made 64 appearances in the Regionalliga West. Prior to joining Wiedenbrück, the Versmold native was part of the Arminia Bielefeld youth set-up and helped the U19s gain promotion to the A-Junior Bundesliga. At Wiedenbrück, he has developed into a regular and a central figure for SC coach Daniel Brinkmann.
